Wild honeymoon

This honeymoon combines two of America's great destinations. On the one hand, New York, that wild city full of skyscrapers, people and life. And on the other, Costa Rica, the country where wild nature takes centre stage. You will have free days to enjoy everything the Big Apple has to offer: shopping, musicals, museums, restaurants and all its gay life and history, where the LGBT liberation movement began. Afterwards, you will discover the natural paradise of Costa Rica, with its natural parks, volcanoes, incredible beaches, hot springs and exotic wildlife. Moreover, Costa Rica is one of the most advanced and open to homosexuality countries in Latin and Central America, so you will also have the opportunity to get to know its gay life.

Itinerary

Throughout these 19 days you will have free time to visit New York at your leisure. Afterwards, you will do one of the most complete itineraries in Costa Rica, ending on the beaches of Guanacaste.

Day 1 / Origin - New York
Departure from your place of origin by direct scheduled flight. Upon arrival in New York, transfer to your hotel in the centre of Manhattan and let the fun begin!
Days 2 to 5 / New York
Days off in New York. The city is a cultural and entertainment hotbed and an undisputed world icon. You’re sure to have a great time.
Day 6 / New York - San Jose
At the indicated time, a transfer service will take you to the airport for your flight to Costa Rica. Upon arrival in San José, one of our representatives will be waiting for you at the Juan Santa María International Airport to take you to your hotel. Today could be a good opportunity to get to know the gay night of the capital.
Day 7 / San Jose - Poás Volcano
After breakfast, we recommend a half-day excursion to the Poás Volcano. It is active, has one of the largest craters in the world and it is possible to get almost right up to the rim. From there the views are spectacular.

In the evening you can dine in the famous gastronomic and cultural district of Escalante or enjoy a good cocktail at Neon Ice, one of the trendiest bars.
Day 8 / San Jose - Tortuguero National Park
Today we leave very early for Tortuguero, taking the Braulio Carrillo highway, which will show us its majestic nature. We will stop in Guápiles for a delicious breakfast and then follow the route to the embarkation point. There, we will start our boat adventure, which will allow us to see the great variety of flora and fauna of this area. In the afternoon we will go to the village of Tortuguero, where we will be able to see the great variety of handicrafts.
Day 9 / Tortuguero National Park
Start a new day with a hike through the lush tropical rainforest. rainforest. This is one of the areas with the richest and most varied flora and fauna in the whole country. As many as eleven habitats have been identified with 4,000 different plant species and 200 different tree species. You will also observe many birds, mammals and reptiles. In the afternoon, we will continue to admire the wonders of the Caribbean as we travel through its canals.
Day 10 / Tortuguero - Puerto Viejo
After breakfast, return to Guápiles, where you will be given your rental car and continue to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. This town is part of the Southern Caribbean of Costa Rica and is one of the areas that best preserves its Afro-Caribbean charm. After arriving at your accommodation you will have the rest of the time at leisure.
Day 11 / Puerto Viejo
Free day in Puerto Viejo. This area stands out for its incredible Caribbean beaches, where you can relax or practice surfing and other water sports.

If you want to get your adrenaline pumping and have a great time, we recommend you take the Pacuare rapids excursion, a rafting trip suitable for all types of tourists.
Day 12 / Puerto Viejo - Arenal Volcano
Today it’s off to La Fortuna de San Carlos, home of the imposing Arenal Volcano. During the tour it is possible to learn more about Costa Rica, its lush landscapes and its people.

The Arenal Volcano has a height of 1,000 metres. The Arenal Volcano has a height of 1,670 metres and is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. It is located within the Arenal Volcano National Park. It began its last and current period of activity in 1968. Since then it has been constantly emitting gases and water vapours, with some explosions with pyroplastic material emissions and, sometimes, strong rumblings.

Free time for the rest of the day to do some activities or excursions in the area, or to enjoy the hotel facilities.
Day 13 / Arenal Volcano
Free day to explore the area and take part in some of the various recreational activities on offer: quad biking, hanging bridges and observe the jungle from a new perspective, canopy and zip-lines, visit to the Venado Caves, La Fortuna waterfall…
Day 14 / Arenal Volcano - Monteverde
We head for our next destination, the Monteverde mountain area, which is about 100 kilometres away. This area has gained international renown as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics.
Day 15 / Monteverde
Free day to enjoy the climate and the mountainous terrain of Monteverde, which produces an incredible biodiversity. Around 400 species of birds (including the Quetzal), more than 100 species of mammals, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles and approximately 2,500 species of plants live here, making this place a true paradise. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also enjoy alternative activities such as zip-lines, walks on hanging bridges, a serpentarium, a butterfly farm, a butterfly garden, a butterfly farm, butterfly farm, horseback riding, coffee tour, etc.
Day 16 / Monteverde - Guanacaste
Drive to Guanacaste, about 100 kilometres away. Long summer days and beautiful beaches are two phrases that define this area, which stands out for its stunning coastline and distinguished culture. You can delight in the natural scenery with exotic and wild plants, hummingbirds, crocodiles, iguanas, toucans, parrots, listen to the sounds of howler monkeys and, of course, enjoy the beautiful beaches and sunsets.
Days 17 and 18 / Guanacaste
Free time to enjoy the all-inclusive hotel, the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Rican Pacific and leisure activities such as bird watching, horseback riding, surfing, diving or snorkelling.
Days 19 and 20 / Guanacaste - San Jose - Origin
The honeymoon is coming to an end. Back to San Jose, where you could do some last minute shopping or sightseeing. After returning the car at the airport, flight back home with overnight on board.
