Madrid will host the first edition of the International Festival of Light on the weekend of October 29-31. In this way, the capital will join a cultural tradition started in Lyon in the mid-1990s where light is the protagonist and the nights are transformed into resplendent celebrations of art and creativity.
During the last three nights of October, iconic scenarios of the capital such as the Puerta de Alcalá, the Royal Palace, El Retiro or the Prado Museum will be illuminated with the creations of national and international artists including Juanjo Llorens or Onionlab studio.
Some institutions like the CaixaForum or the Círculo de Bellas Artes will also join the celebration and will extend their opening hours; others like ARAN Art Network + Lab or the Italian Institute of Culture of Madrid will cede part of their spaces for the exhibition of works or for the organization of meetings.
